Members of the Philippine Exporters Confederation (Region XI Chapter), Inc. (PHILEXPORT Davao ) were feted to a roundtable discussion with authorized agent banks to discuss the current practices on export facilitation procedure specifically on the Payment Application Security System (PASS5) required by the Bureau of Customs to expedite export transactions. This was bared by Philexport Davao Chapter Executive Director Marizon S. Loreto.

The forum on Export Facilitation was held at the Kanatu Hall, Royal Mandaya Hotel last April 10, 2019 with over than sixty (60) participants coming from the different sectors of the export industry in Region XI. Representatives from commercial banks namely Union Bank, East West Bank and Banco de Oro (BDO) were also on hand to share their respective programs and best practices in terms of export lodgment process. 

Davao Chapter conducted the said forum to provide member-exporters with the platform to ventilate their concerns anent export fees and procedures that affect their business transactions. The event was also a part of the advocacy program implemented by the local chapter to ensure that members/exporters are accorded with the right support to ensure continuing export business.

The discussion proved to be worthwhile and helpful to the Chapter members. Authorized agent banks committed to review their respective bank rates/charges being imposed to the local players and make adjustments, if necessary.

The Bureau of Customs representative assured the local players that it will likewise extend the necessary support to ensure that issues affecting export transactions will be readily addressed. He also encouraged industry players to continue to be vigilant in their cause to improve the export lodgment procedure to warrant continuous business undertakings.

Members of the Philexport Davao Chapter were also on hand to support the said event. The said forum was also supported by the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc./msl/04.25.19
