The Philippine Exporters Confederation (Region XI Chapter), Inc. is now all set for the conduct of the Banana Conference that will be staged on October 11-12, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, Lanang,
Davao City.

Mr. Ferdinand Y. Maranon, President of Philexport Davao declared that the event in October will bring together local and internatinal experts in the field of technology, quality standards, marketing and plant disease management, who will discuss the various development perspectives and latest updates amidst the challenges that continue to confront the banana industry.

Competition with other banana producing regions, high tariff rates, shipping/freight rates, disease and pestilence being some of the concerns that continue to challenge the banana industry sustainability are some of the points of interests to be deliberated during the event.

The gathering will also include a technology and product exhibition, business networking and trade matchmaking, technical sessions and culinary showcase. Those who would participate in the trade matchmaking are enjoined to submit their area/s of interest for earlier collaboration with potential suppliers and/or buyers.

The Philippine Exporters Confederation (Region XI Chapter), Inc. has successfully conducted the Annual General Membership Meeting (GMM) in time for its 25 th Anniversary Celebration on March 10, 2018 at the Marina Tuna Function Room, Km. 8, Sasa, Davao City.

Attended by 120 members, the event was highlighted with the election of officers. Private sector representatives were elected to the Board of Trustees who will serve their term of office from 2018-2022.

Commissioner Isidro Lapena graced the occasion as the Keynote Speaker. He also administered the oath of office of the Board of Trustees. Chairman Domingo O. Ang also inducted the forty-three (43) new members of the Chapter.


Another highlight of the occasion was the launching of the Directory of Philexport Members. The directory contained the names of member companies along with their respective products/commodities. It likewise included other information on the programs, projects and services being offered by Philexport Davao.

As part of the anniversary celebration, the new project of Philexport Davao, the Customs Common Bonded Warehouse located at South Bay, R. Castillo, Davao City was also inaugurated with prospective company-users and members of the Board of Trustees in attendance. /msl

The Philippine Exporters Confederation, Region XI Davao Chapter (Philexport Davao) conducted recently the Informative Seminar on the Basics of Exporting.  This was bared by Marizon S. Loreto, Philexport Executive Director.The activity was held on December 7, 2017 at the Pinnacle Hotel, along Sta.Ana Avenue, this city.

With over than 60 participants in attendance, the seminar was aimed at providing new exporters with salient information on the procedures and requirements set by government agencies to facilitate export operations. Private sector export service provider was also on hand to share the procedural flow of export transaction using the online lodgment system.

Resource persons from government entities such as the Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Plant Industry-Plant Quarantine Services and the Export Marketing Bureau of the Department of Trade and Industry as well as from Philexport National were present to share their expertise and information on their respective agencies’ export policy guidelines and requirements.

The participants were also given the opportunity to seek clarifications on some issues confronting their export business transactions’ facilitation obligations.

Ms. Loreto declared that the event was held as part of the chapter’s commitment to provide relevant information and services to stakeholders in the export sector.Further, the seminar was undertaken in line with the National Exporters Week celebration which is every first week of December.

She further bared that advocacy sessions and series of fora are lined-up for the incoming year 2018 to be undertaken by Philexport Davao. /msl
