PHILEXPORT DAVAO BARES IMPORTANCE OF DTI WATCHLIST
Region XI suppliers of manufactured goods and exporters of various commodities should be cautious in dealing with buyers/importers, this was learned from the PHILEXPORT Davao Executive Director, Marizon Loreto. She bared that the Philippine Exporters Confederation (Region XI Chapter), Inc. received complaints from local export players on this regard.
Ms. Loreto further declared that based on the DTI Watchlist they received from the Department of Trade and Industry Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), companies facing complaints for various reasons such as non-delivery of paid orders (NDPO), non-payment of delivery (NPD), short shipments (SS) cancellation of letters of credit and non-compliance to quality specifications (QS) are among the nature of trade complaints filed.
She also revealed that in pursuance to DTI Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 19, Series of 2019, which states the guidelines in resolving trade complaints, the Secretary of DTI through the Export Trade Complaints Committee (ETCC) is mandated to adopt measures for the out-of-court settlement or mediation for the settlement of trade and industry related disputes.
The Export Trade Complaints Committee (ETCC) is an inter-agency body created to accept and recommend specific actions to resolve trade complaints. The ETCC Secretariat provides Mediation Officers to mediate export complaints.
The DTI Watchlist contains the names of entities included in the ETCC Resolutions to caution the public from undertaking any transactions with said companies.
PHILEXPORT Davao reminds all export players to ensure that a formal marketing transaction with buyers/importers should be strictly observed and document such as the marketing contract should specify the details of each business deal.

PHILEXPORT DAVAO CCBW NO. 119 OPERATIONAL AND EXTENDS LOWER SERVICE CHARGES TO MEMBER COMPANIES
The Philippine Exporters Confederation (Region XI Chapter), Inc. (PHILEXPORT Davao)
announces that its customs common bonded warehouse with code PHILEXPORT Davao CCBW No. 119 is now in operation with three (3) of its member companies namely JiefuTeam, Inc., Millennium Specialty Coco Product, Inc. (MSCPI) and Double Davao Printing and Paper Packaging Corporation (DDPPPC) participating. This was learned from PHILEXPORT Davao Executive Director Marizon S. Loreto.
The PHILEXPORT Davao CCBW No. 119 is a customs common bonded warehouse operator accredited by the Bureau of Customs. Its warehousing services can be availed of by PHILEXPORT member-companies so they can import their raw materials requirements tax and duty-free.
The CCBW No. 119 imposes service charge of .60% of the dutiable value of imported commodities, far lower than the rates of other warehouses. The said rate will be reduced to .55% of the dutiable value of imported goods with continued membership with the CCBW No. 119.
PHILEXPORT Davao also provides technical assistance to clients in their application for import accreditation with the Bureau of Customs. Likewise, the organization of exporters also enables availability of bond premium payment required by the CCBW No. 119 member companies.
Correspondingly, the CCBW No. 119 Committee was created composed of PHILEXPORT Davao Board of Trustees and private company representatives. The committee is tasked to oversee the customs common bonded warehouse activities, ensure compliance with customs laws and rules on warehousing, conduct monitoring of CCBW No. 119 operational activities and maintain strong coordination with government regulatory agencies such as the Bureau of Customs.
PHILEXPORT Davao members with import requirements for export of finished products are enjoined to avail of these services where they can do business tax and duty-free. /msl
